The latest atrocity in Afghanistan to hit the headlines are photos of US service personnel posing with dead Afghan fighters and body parts. It is as if tired, demoralized soldiers are looking for ways to embarrass their government in the hopes the end will come sooner rather than later.
The photos were published in the
LA Times on Wednesday. An American paratrooper said he released the photos to draw attention to the break down of discipline and leadership. The paper
claimed it was merely doing its duty to inform the public.
